2nd Annual 5k & Family Health Fair Recap

Oct 05, 2016

The 2nd Annual STRIDE FORWARD 5K and Family Health Fair is in the books, and it was a huge success!  We had over 400 runners, 32 health fair booths, and raised over $57,000 for children facing serious health problems in Northern Virginia.  The Health Fair was fun and engaging, DJ Chris Styles was entertaining, the Kona Ice truck was refreshing, and the Singing Princesses were a hit!  Cindy Chambers, award winning author and founder of the Tell Me Town Foundation, was there to greet children with our new Healthy Living booklet, and to introduce Pounce, PSV’s new lion cub mascot.

A huge thanks goes out to our sponsors: Novo Nordisk (our GOLD Sponsor), TD BankGrosvenorIntegroKDDM Coast to CoastNutriciaFairfax Radiological ConsultantsChildren’s Therapy CenterVNS TherapyAdvantage Physical TherapyDixon Hughes Goodman, LLP, and Abbott (our Silver Sponsors) our volunteers from the Hope Association, and all of the other sponsors and in-kind donors who made this event possible.  Also, special recognition to the following top fundraising teams (for a full list of teams and fundraisers, please visit (http://www.firstgiving.com/psvcare/stride-forward-5k-and-family-health-fair-2016):

We could not have put on this event without the participation of PSV employees, patients, families, volunteers, and community partners who donated time and energy into making it a success.  To all of you who helped to support our cause- THANK YOU, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
