Where did you grow up?
I grew up locally in Culpeper, Virginia.
Why did you become a doctor and why did you choose your specialty?
Growing up, I saw my father, who is a physician, help people in our community and it inspired me to do the same. I love working with children of all ages, and it amazes me how much I learn from my patients. Kids are so resilient, and they make every day at work a rewarding one!
What do you most enjoy doing outside of your clinical practice, when you’re not working?
I love spending time with my husband and kids! I also enjoy working out especially cycling, running, and lifting.
If you weren’t a doctor, what profession would you most likely be doing and why?
The most rewarding part of my job is having a long-lasting and positive impact on children, so if I was not a doctor, then I would be a teacher. Kids are inspiring! They motivate me and teach me new things every day.
